POV is a piece I developed during a two-month research and production phase in Glasgow. The work was presented at the Glasgow International for the exhibition “Hubris” by the gallery Civic Room, which dealt with the theme of trans- and posthumanism. For my contribution, I decided to explore the theme of “memory” and its transmission as a transhumanist process.
Each performer was asked to cosplay a fictional character. Additionally, each of them translated a personal, important memory into a performative action during the preparation. This action was then integrated into a collective rhythm of actions within the group. Each action was first repeated by the other performers and then further developed through their own movement interpretations. Through imitation and evolution of an action, the performers developed an understanding of it.
