Gedächtnispalast (Memory Palace) as part of the collective Streunender Hund

Gedächtnispalast is a conceptual art project that draws inspiration from the memory technique of the same name. The former factory building “Eisenwerk” served as a creative catalyst for a collaborative process within the collective. The artistic creation, including the continued work or dismantling of various contributions, functioned as our shared language over a period of six weeks. This culminated in a collective work of art.

At the vernissage, visitors were presented with a fully assembled exhibition. From that point on, a slow dismantling process began, so that at the finissage, visitors encountered an empty space. A performance took place in which collective members recounted their memories of the exhibition. In this way, the conceptual completion of the Gedächtnispalast was achieved.
